Team Stormy Day: Mission Two
Deliver a shipment of eggs to Sapling village

"Is this it?" Mint asked the Joltik on her shoulder. The Sneasel stood in front of a huge, multicolored building with the likeness of a Kecleon on the roof.

"I think it is. Wow, this place is huge!" Sophia replied. After receiving Shroomsworth's reply letter, they had rushed to Tao village to receive their first mission. Having grown up in the the treetops of the Creeping Forest, the wide open spaces and towering buildings were a completely new experience.

Mint turned to her companion and said before stepping through the curtained doorway, "Enough staring, Soph, let's go." In the lobby of the building stood doors into Pk and Shroomsworth's offices, as well as a bin of cloth labeled 'Take One.' Mint squealed in delight and rushed over to the chest, digging excitedly through multicolored scarves, bandanas, and bows. "Look at all of this! And such great quality, too!" she babbled happily. Finally she found a long strip of cloth in a color matching her feathers, and tied it around her waist. Remembering Sophia, she asked her, "You want something? I could tailor it down for you."

Sophia adjusted her tiny pair of glasses before replying to Mint, "Nah, I'm good. I just got these after all." Mint put a stray bandana back into the box as she got up. She stepped over to Shroomsworth's door and knocked loudly before letting herself in. The Breloom sat at his desk, sipping a cup of tea.

"We're here for a mission, sir!" Mint announced as the guild leader looked up, mildly surprised.

"Oh, yes." he said, "I have a very important mission for you. I am delivering a shipment of eggs to my hometown, and I need you to accompany me."

Later, Mint and Sophie walked beside Shroomsworth as he pushed a cart full of eggs ahead of him. As he went, he continued to explain the mission. "Sapling Village lies beond the Creeping Forest." As she heard this, Sophia jumped and nudged Mint. "The road forks into two farther ahead. One path leads to the castle of a dangerous Lugia named Merlot, and the other goes through the territory of the infamous Slasher Gang. I have prepared a bribe for Merlot, as she is easier to negotiate with--"

At this point a grinning Mint interrupted him, "Wait! I think we should go through the forest. I…lived in a forest, so I bet we could make it through this one."

"Either way is fine," Shroomsworth consented. At the fork they turned left, and soon the forest became darker and more ominous. Shadowy figures flicked through the branches, and Shroomsworth leaned foreword nervously to adjust the canvas cover on the cart. Soon they began to hear the sounds of a battle. The noises became louder, until they came across a clearing in the heart of the shadowy forest. A Weavile, obviously Slasher himself, was battling a Machop and a Zubat wearing yellow bandanas.

Shroomsworth, keeping a wary eye on the battle in case Slasher decided to turn his sights on the eggs, skirted the edge of the clearing. As he looked away, a Sneasel appeared from behind a tree to reach under the canvas cover. Quickly, Mint tackled them and pushed them deeper into the forest. "Mint!" the Sneasel exclaimed amicably, "This ya new gig, coz?"

"Shutya trap, Sara!" hissed Mint, reverting to the Slasher Gang's gruff speech as she reprimanded her cousin. "Yeah, it is, and I don't want ya'll ruining' it. Me'n Soph are bringing these eggs to Sapling Villiage, without a hitch! Catch my drift?"

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. We don't get no eggs. Whateva." Sara scampered off, but not before delivering a last jibe, "Have fun being a sissy shopkeep, coz!" Her job done, Mint returned to Shroomsworth.

"I intercepted a thief, sir!" Mint exclaimed proudly to Shroomsworth.

"Good, good," the guild leader replied absently, still watching the battle as they receded into the trees, "We're almost out of the forest. We should arrive at Sapling Village soon." An hour of trudging through the Creeping Forest's windy dirt roads later, the trio arrived at Sapling village. "I'm going to bring these eggs to the Shroomish Hub. You two can explore the village if you want. You will receive your payment when you return to Tao Village. Good work." The Breloom pushed his cart to the small tan building, and soon disappeared into the doorway.

"Sooo, Watcha want to do?" Mint asked Sophia.

"Go back to Tao Village, duh!" she shouted gleefully. "We've got a prize waiting for us!" Mint sprinted over to Barty's Bluff Outpost, but stopped abruptly, almost making Sophia fall off of her shoulder. She frowned at the sighn tacked to the doorway reading, 'Sorry, closed until Sunday.'

"There's only one option, then," Mint sighed as she turned back to the path leading through the Creeping Forest to face her outlawed family for the second time in a day.
Mint doesn't really like her family all that much.
